The 2024 SC Pro Duffers is wrapped. We kicked off the season in March, playing on a rain soaked, muddy track, at Traditions in Charlotte. We ended on 8/24 on a well maintained Oak Hills. Altogether, we played 13 stops in the region.
The season was a great time to fellowship and play competitive golf. We welcomed new members who said they were looking for somewhere to test their skills in an environment where every shot counted. There were some stops where 1st to 4th place was decided by 5 strokes and some even had to come down to a tiebreaker.
Overall, the Woods flight champion this year was Anthony Toney. He placed first in 6 of the 11 stops in which he participated. The runner up in the Woods flight was Troy Belton, last years winner. He placed 1st in 3 of the 12 stops he participated in. This was a close race for the runner-up. With only 100 points separating Troy and Bernard Goss going into the last stop, Troy put up a 77. Bernard was close behind with a 79.
In the Peete Flight, the winner came down to the last stop. With only 200 points separating first from second, Ricky Mack prevailed. He had an excellent day. Earnest Hill was right there after the front 9, being down only one stroke. Ricky, with a little pressure on him on the back nine, parred 4 holes in a row to clinch the title.
Finishing the second year of the SC Pro Duffers Tour saw incredible growth and even better competition from the participants. With an eye on growth, the Tour keeps adding new facets to the stops to make the competition even greater. In year 3, the payouts will be higher and the competition more fierce. Congratulations to all the winners and see you in February 2025 on the Tour.
