
The South Carolina Pro Duffers put up a valiant effort in defending their 2024 National Title at the Robert Trent Jones Trail at Capitol Hill. After completing the first day on The Judge, the difficult course played tough for everyone. Going into the second day on The Senator, we were 20 strokes back from the lead. At the end of the second day, after everyone put up a valiant effort, we were 8 strokes short from repeating as National Champions and came in 2nd overall.
South Carolina did have individuals that played very well this year. Billy (BJ) Blackmon is the Co-National Champion this year. BJ was competitive on both days, shooting a net 143 overall. Anthony Toney was first in his flight. Val Pinckney was second in his flight, John Backstrom was second in his flight. Earnest Hill and Marcus Dudley were third in their flights.
On Wednesday during the skins competition, Ray Gray won 2 skins. Marcus Dudley and Henry Motes won 1 skin each.
